Join Mark Fehlman for a Lunch and Learn entitled “Design Strategies for Great Paintings.” Every great painting starts with a great foundation. The design of this foundation is the magic that creates a stunning painting. Mark will demonstrate and discuss how to find a great scene to paint en plein air and capture the essence of the place. It is all about editing, using 3 to 4 values, looking for patterns, and finding what is important to include in a painting.
Mark will show you, as an artist, how to use strategic design strategies that’ll help knock down your struggle and allow you to thoroughly enjoy the entire process, and still produce great work. As a collector, Mark will talk about what to look for in a painting that sets it apart from the rest. Once Mark teaches you his design strategies that will bring a whole new sense of understanding of what makes a masterpiece. He puts it all into action as he demonstrates a gorgeous painting done from a plein air sketch, photo reference, and value and composition sketches.
