One Day Workshop in Port St. Joe with Carla Bosch
One day workshop with artist Carla Bosch entitled “Let’s Loosen Up!” We will focus on minimizing brush strokes and allowing your own style to come alive. Carla’s workshop is in ACRYLICS so please note this when signing up. You don’t have to use acrylics during the workshop but it is suggested for the best workshop experience and learning her methods.

One day workshop in Apalachicola with Haidee-Jo Summers entitled "Capturing the Essence.” Exploring the themes of simplicity and economy - how do we say what we want to say about a subject without saying too much and losing the impact? Discussing focal points, composition, peripheral vision and suggestion. How to suggest detail with just a few brush marks.

Opening Luncheon for everyone to meet artists and share lunch together. Local artist Cheryl Ploegstra will also give her residency presentation at the luncheon. Free to attend.
A Working Waterfront Artist Demonstrations and Reception
Join artists Poppy Balser, Greg Barnes, Vicki Norman & Manon Sander at the riverfront in Apalachicola as they paint the boats and area along Water Street. Reception immediately following the demonstration. Free to the public.
Quickdraw and Florida's Finest Exhibits
Come see the opening of the Quickdraw and Florida’s Finest Exhibits at The Joe Center for the Arts, 201 Reid Avenue in Port St. Joe on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 6:00 pm. Reception is free to the public. The exhibits will remain open from 11:00am-5:00pm from Sunday, March 16 through Wednesday, March 19th.
Quickdraw/Florida’s Finest Exhibit Opening and 20th Anniversary Reception
Reception to hear Judge’s Perspective on the 2025 Quickdraw winning paintings and to meet the 2025 Florida’s Finest Ambassadors. We will also have a special presentation of awards in honor of our 20th Anniversary - more details to follow!

"Perspectives of 20 Years with the Forgotten Coast en Plein Air Event"
A roundtable discussion with the winners of the Richard M. Carrell Distinguished Artist Award celebrating 20 years of the FCenPA event. Led by FCCC board member Joe Taylor, come to enjoy a reception and discussion about their experiences in participating in this event during the last 20 years of its existence. The artists expected to participate are Lori Putnam, Mary Erickson, Dawn Whitelaw, Kathie Odom, Morgan Samuel Price and Charles Dickinson. Reception is free and open to the public at the Wet Room, Armory, 66 4th Street in Apalachicola.
Lunch and Learn with Michelle Held
Join Michelle for a Lunch and Learn demonstration entitled “Unlock the Secrets of Color Temperature.” Join us for an exclusive painting demo where Florida artist Michelle Held will help you demystify the concept of color temperature. Michelle will reveal her techniques for using the contrast of cooler and warmer paint colors to create vibrant, dynamic artworks that truly pop off the canvas. You'll explore how to manipulate color temperature to add depth, dimension, and life to your paintings.

Lunch and Learn with Olena Babak
Join Olena Babak for an oil painting demonstration “Capturing the Essence of a Sunrise.” With experience from her Plein Air adventures and studio practice, she will lead you through the nuances of color and light. Olena will share her methods for capturing the ever-changing light, illustrating how to depict its vibrant hues, the play of light and morning glow. She will demonstrate how she goes about using color and values in achieving believable effect of early morning.

Lunch and Learn with Kathleen B. Hudson
Join Kathleen as she addresses the topic "Nocturne Painting."
The Lunch and Learn series is limited lunch seating at Fort Coombs Armory, 66 4th Street, Apalachicola, the site of our wet room this year. It will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, March 20th, $20 per person. Premium table seating with lunch is provided for those with required reservations via the website. Once the event is sold out, overflow seating is provided behind the reserved lunch seats for those just attending the presentation with no lunch provided and no preregistration required.
Eastpoint Artist Demonstrations and Reception and Michelle Held Residency Presentation
Watch artists Olena Babak, Poppy Balser, Charles Dickinson, Michelle Held & Morgan Samuel Price capture the atmosphere, tradition and lifestyle of the small fishing community and the beauty of the Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve in Eastpoint. At the reception, the artists will present a brief discussion of their paintings. Following this, artist Michelle Held will have a brief presentation of her residency paintings completed this year at ANERR.

Lunch and Learn with Mark Shasha
Join Mark Shasha as he presents the topic, "The Wonders of Painting the Sea." Mark will share his observations and techniques of capturing the mysterious and ever-changing properties of the ocean. He will talk about the illusions of reflection and motion and why he loves to bring water into his paintings. Mark is a Signature Member of the American Society of Marine Artists and The Guild of Boston Artists.
Maecenas Dinner
Maecenas Dinner is for those Collectors who purchase a package of $1000 or higher (which all dollars spent apply to the purchase of a painting 100%). Come enjoy the evening of great food and great music, talk with the artists, and choose that special masterpiece to purchase for your own collection!
Masters Gallery Tour with Artist Suzie Baker
The Masters Gallery is comprised of studio paintings from the returning invited artists, often in larger formats than are possible en plein air. Join artist Suzie Baker as she discusses what make the pieces presented in the Masters Gallery so valuable.

Exhibit at The Joe, located at 201 Reid Avenue in Port St. Joe. Starting at 11:00am on Friday, March 14 until Wednesday, March 19 at 5:00pm. Presentation of the residency by Cheryl will be at the Opening Luncheon at the Joe on Friday, March 14 at noon.
